Member Plugin Defaults ( Job Settings )

VIDEO Setup options for a roof frame member are demonstrated by showing the default weld settings for one such member, then changing setup, then restarting Modeling and adding a new roof frame that uses the revised weld settings from setup. (Recorded in SDS2 Detailing , v2016.)

Member Plugin Defaults sets the default settings on a custom member's edit window to be as you specify. The first time in a Modeling session that you add that specific custom member, the edit window for that plugin will, by default, be populated with the settings specified using Member Plugin Defaults .

1 . Home > Project Settings > Job > Plugin Defaults > Member Plugin Defaults .

2 . The Select Plugin Setup dialog opens. On it is a selection list of custom members that have a setup windows. Double-click one of the commands on the list.

3 . A setup window opens for the custom member that you double-clicked in step 2. Make the setup choices you want to be applied to the window, then press " OK " to close the window.

These are setup windows for custom members that are installed when you have an SDS2 Detailing license. Since custom members are plugins that can be installed by users, other custom member setup windows that are not listed here may be available to you.

4 . The next time you open Modeling and add a custom member that you just set up, that custom member's edit window will, by default, be populated with the setup choices you made in step 3.

Default behavior for subsequently added custom members within a Modeling session is dependent on the plugin's programmer. Typical behavior is for the edit window for a custom member to use the last-entered settings as the defaults for each subsequently added custom member of that same type within a Modeling session, then to use Member Plugin Defaults for the first time a custom member is added in a subsequent Modeling session.

Also see: You can use the Plugin Manager utility to copy a custom member plugin from the plugins folder to the plugins folder in your current Job . Doing this ensures that the same plugin will be used throughout the development of your current Job. If you do not do this, the plugin used in your current Job may be overwritten the next time new versions of SDS2 software is installed .
